1. To get information from the article. 2. The use of “the reason why … is that …”. ◆ 课前准备 1.课前准备:调试光盘与课件、给学生分组、为学生布置预习作业等; 2.教具学具:光盘、大卡片等。 ◆ 教学过程 Step1. Words

1.Teach new words with their Chinese translation and complete explanation. 2.Show the new words and phrases through pictures.

3.Teacher ask questions to students and students answer them with the new words and phrases to enhance their own memory.

4.Show the map of China to introduce the countries where English is spoken. Step2. Talking

1.Students discuss the history and development of English.

English has now become an international language. How did this happen? What will the future of English be like? Who owns English? 2. Work in pairs. Talk about the photos of countries. Student say:

1. Read the whole passage and answer the questions about the history and development of English.

1.Write a composition called: The future of Chinese 2.The composition should include these aspects below:

Why do you think people will speak Chinese as an international language in the future? Write your notes in full sentences. 3.Present the sample passages to the whole class.
