Jeans have become one piece of clothing worn by the most people in the world. Everybody wears them, from the farmer to the lawyer and from models to housewives. But why have jeans become so popular? You’ll get many answers. For some people they look cool, for others jeans are just comfortable.

Jeans were first stronger trousers made for farm workers in the states of the

American west. In the eastern part of the US jeans were hardly worn at all. They were connected with farm people and the workers. So the rich wouldn’t like to wear them.

It was James Dean and Marlon Brando that made them popular in movies and everyone started to wear them. They were a symbol of the rebellion of young people during the 1950s and 1960s. So these new trousers were not allowed in American schools and sometimes in theatres and cinemas. As time went on,jeans became more acceptable. American people in Europe and Japan often wore them when they were not on duty to show that they were Americans. The trousers showed the world a happier way

Do you want to make homework simpler? Oxford Learning founder and CEO Dr. Nick Whitehead said, “ Homework might be an unavoidable(不可避免的) part in school, but it doesn’t have to be the boring part. With the right skills in place, students can turn homework from headache-including to trouble-free.” These steps will make an obvious difference. Use your notebooks

The brain is able to finish great works, but it is not perfect. Students should never rely on (依赖) it to remember all school details. When a teacher assigns homework, students should write the details in their notebooks. According to Whitehead, to make them effective, students need to remember to take the notebooks out of their school bags at night, open them up, and read over the night’s list. Remove distractions(使注意力分散的事物)

Computers on, music on, text messages receiving….

Whitehead says that if students aren’t doing research, they should turn off all the above electronics and focus on the task at hand for a set period of time. They’ll find that it is easier to concentrate(全神贯注) and that homework takes less time. Think actively

Getting homework done is the name of the game, but what happens if students are struggling with a questions or can’t work out an answer? When facing difficulties, it is wise for the student to take a small break then return to look at the problem again. Get organized

Homework is often the most disorganized part. Whitehead recommends, “ Students should keep all the homework-related things in a bin so they don’t waste time searching for pens or rulers. ” He also recommends picking the same place to do homework every night, and (when possible) completing homework at the same time each day.

Ever feel like no one really understands you? Well “ Pepper” could be about to change all that. Pepper is the first robot to read human feelings. Using its emotion recognition functions, Pepper can react to people when it is near them-- making jokes, dancing and even singing in Japanese.

The man-like robot looks like a small girl. It is four-feet tall with a tablet computer set to its chest. It has human-like hands, a girl-like body and baby-like voice. It was shown to curious people in Tokyo stores on Friday by Softbank, a Japanese robotics company.

Pepper can examine facial expressions(面部表情),human voice and signs, then make an answer. Pepper is designed to be a family robot, but it isn’t like Rosie who can do housework on the cartoon. Pepper is used at the home or the store, where we provide fun and entertainment.

Pepper gets power from love inside a family. Not only is he making jokes, making them laugh, it can also help people when they are in trouble. In a natural accident, it can help make those people who are sad or lonely feel relaxed, encourage them or make them laugh.

Pepper goes on sale in Japan for around $2,000 in February 2015. For now, several Peppers are at

Being a Good Listener

Good afternoon, everyone! Today I’d like to share my ideas of “Being a Good Listener” with you. Good listening can always show respect and build good relationships with people.

Parents should listen to their children, so they will understand them better and trust each other. Teachers should also listen to their students so that they can increase their understanding and improve relationships. Students should listen to their classmates, then their friendship will be increased and they will help each other.

We’d better be patient while listening. Don’t forget to keep silent while listening. In a word, good listening can really make us get closer to each other.
