Good morning, honorable judges. Today I feel very happy to have the chance to communicate with you about the teaching plan of Unit 1 Reading from Book 8A Fun With English. I will divide the instructions into seven parts. They are Teaching Material Analysis, Teaching Aims, Teaching Emphasis, Teaching Difficulties, Teaching Methods, Teaching Aids and Teaching Procedures. Part 1 Teaching Material Analysis
This lesson is a reading material about friends. It is the first topic in module one ‘teenage life’. It is focused on how to describe friends. Such a topic is related to students’ daily life and all of the students have something to say. So the passage is a good example to show how to describe their best friend. And it lays a foundation for the output in main task. Therefore, this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material. Part 2.Teaching Aims 1. Knowledge Aims:
After the lesson, students should be able to (1) Master the four-skilled words and phrases.
(2) Learn to describe friend using adjectives and phrases. 2. Ability Aims:
(1) Improve their reading skills, such as skimming scanning, especially
identifying specific information about three friends and assorting the detailed information in three entries.
(2) Learn to describe friends’ appearance and characteristics. 3. Emotional Aims:
(1) To foster students’ correct cognition on friends. (2) To treasure friendship between friends. Part3. Teaching Emphasis

Be able to use adjectives and phrases to describe friends’ appearance and characteristics.
Part5. Teaching Methods
Three-stage model, Task-based Language Teaching Method and communicative
method.
The English Curriculum Standard advocates teachers to adopt the task-based language Teaching. TBLT can stimulate students’ initiative in learning and let students experience success in the process of completing tasks. By experiencing and practicing, form students’ sufficient competence in using the language.
The communicative method can improve students’ communicative competence. Part 6. Teaching Aids.
